Ha, there is a trick that I know but Wolfgang does not ;)

> \startMPenvironment

You can use \startMPenvironment[global]

> \usetypescript[postscript][ec]
> \setupbodyfont[postscript,ss,120pt]
> \stopMPenvironment

then you do not need to repeat this.

> \usetypescript[postscript][ec]
> \setupbodyfont[postscript,ss,120pt]

With [global] the environment is applied to both the MP file and the TeX 
file.
