So TEXMFCACHE and TEXMFOS are not needed?
And what about the praxis in contrast do the theory?
Here my little test:
unset TEXMFOS
unset TEXMFCACHE
context test
-> MTXrun | unknown script 'context.lua' or 'mtx-context.lua'
