I am still using the old 2012.11.16 version, but now you have to specify
the instance in the \startuseMPgraphic as well (Hans had announced this
on the mailing list a few weeks ago):
\startuseMPgraphic{instance::mygraphic}
...
\stopuseMPgraphic
