Dear List,

since I am typesetting a German publication, I wanna get out the comma before and:

R. Smith, F. Bauer, J. Faulkner, & J. Joyce (1966). Blabla ... and it should be:
R. Smith, F. Bauer, J. Faulkner & J. Joyce (1966). Blabla ...

My settings are more or less:

\usebtxdataset[bla-publications.bib]
  \usebtxdefinitions[apa]

+++

\startchapter[reference=chap:7,title={Literaturverzeichnis}]
  \placelistofpublications
\stopchapter

+++

@Article{kri15,
                author = {B. Kriesche and R. Hess and B. Reichert and V. Schmidt},
                journal = {Spatial Statistics},
                pages = {15\,--\,30},
                title = {A probabilistic approach to the prediction of area weather events, applied to precipitation},
                volume = {12},
                year = {2015}}

+++

Any idea?

ALOHA, tobber

Mit freundlichen Gr??en

\setupbtx
  [apa:list:author]
  [separator:3={\btxnobreakspace\textampersand\space}] % last of a list

(But note that the "Oxford" comma is now not only officially accepted,
but it is also part of the APA specification, often not fully
respected.)

Hm, I made this little test:

+++
\startbuffer[references]
@misc{test,
author= {P. Wolf and H. Fuchs and V. Hase and L. Löwe},
title = {Irgendwelche Viecher},
year = {2017},
}
\stopbuffer

\usebtxdataset[references.buffer]
\usebtxdefinitions[aps]

\setupbtx
[apa:list:author]
[separator:3={\btxnobreakspace\textampersand\space}] % last of a list

\starttext

\cite[test]

\placelistofpublications

\stoptext
+++

but this damn comma is still there:

[1] P. Wolf, H. Fuchs, V. Hase, and L. Löwe, Irgendwelche Viecher, (2017).

For reasons that I don't understand, it works if you move the \setupbtx
**before** the \usebtxdefinitions[aps].

You are right. Sometimes your eyes don't see what you don't want to see.

Here you’re loading the *aps* definitions.

And here you’re modifying the *apa* setups. That won’t work. This works:

\startbuffer[references]
@misc{test,
 author= {P. Wolf and H. Fuchs and V. Hase and L. Löwe},
 title = {Irgendwelche Viecher},
 year = {2017},
}
\stopbuffer

\usebtxdataset[references.buffer]

\usebtxdefinitions[aps]

\setupbtx
[aps:list]
[separator:names:3={\btxnobreakspace\textampersand\space}] % last of a list

\starttext

\cite[test]

\placelistofpublications

\stoptext

Thomas

hmmm, that changes the entries in the bibliography completely right. BUT is there also a possibility to change the print outputs of the cite-commands also in that way? There—in the PDF text—is still:

(Meier, Schulze, & Müller)

Thank a lot, guys!
