Well, I suppose you included before:
\definefontfamily[newgardiner][rm][NewGardiner]
If it doesn’t work, replace [NewGardiner] with [NewGardiner-Medium].
If it doesn’t, could you use \setupbodyfont[newgardiner, 14pt]?
