I note that the pragma-ade.nl website has been greatly improved. Now for my
question. Has there been any updating of the introductory manual or the
reference manual in recent years?

If you are talking about ConTeXt, the manual and ConTeXt, an
excursion, then the answer is no (no update). But other documentation
has been added, but I cannot remember which. Why don't you mirror the
documentation site with wget, then you can always update the
documentation without downloading too much.
