Hi John, Thanks for taking the time to reply. The styles are translating as numbered lists. That is not the issue. The general output is OK. But, let's say you now want to produce the document professionally. The user case is the customer creates the technical documents in Paligo (docbook) - makes their HTML and PDF from there. Their OEMs want the content in Word so we need to use Pandoc for that. They want a professional output that they can modify as needed. So let's say they want the bullets to be 1.5 spaces and a normal paragraph to only be be 1 space between paragraphs, we can't do it with the Pandoc output. The bullets come out as Normal or Block Text (and I can't tell anyway when it's one or the other). I have attached 2 small docs (docx and xml). I don't know if you allow attachments. If not, here's a link to the files - https://mega.nz/#F!xVtm1IIS!4kVAz3_gb6MrHFMU-upXlQ. I have marked the Word document with some comments in yellow. Your conversion is good. It's just it would be much more helpful to provide more unique styles that can be modified. If you know a style is in a list, then give a List style. If you know a paragraph is in a table, give a para style for a table such as TableNormal. If a bullet is in a table, give TableBullet, etc. This is how professional Word documents are created. Also the same for indents. Then the author has complete flexibility of changing the document and any part of it. In Docbook you have all this information in the XML. Or am I misunderstanding? In any case, please give a small example to reproduce, and let us know what version of pandoc you're using. +++ Steve Wiseman [Jun 21 17 10:09 ]: > Hi.
