Where does one place "link-citation"?

Where does one place "link-citation"?

Dear Folks,

I tried placing

link-citation: true

inside the YAML block in my default file along with

citeproc: true

but it threw an error.

What is the correct way to specify this option in a YAML block? Does it 
explicitly have to be within the area reserved for references? Or can it 
only be invoked as a command-line option?

I think you have to use a defaults file for this.

It's a bug in the manual!  It should say:

link-citations

not

link-citation

`link-citation` should be a metadata field, so it must be given as part
of the `metadata` section:

    metadata:
      link-citation: true
