To narrow it down I'd suggest considering only those glyphs that have two verticals (so it looks like a reversed pilcrow rather than a fancy "P") and maybe ones where it's in the centre of it's box (so it could be used as a icon more easily). So on the first page I'd drop, say, "Alegreya" for the first reason and "Annie Use Your Telescope" (but what a great name for a font!) for the second.
