pandoc doesn't find csl files folder

Dear all,

I'm using pandoc 1.15.1 and pandoc-citeproc 0.8.0.1 in OSX10.11.1.
My user data directory is~/.pandoc
 where I have a .pandoc/csl folder.
When I try to use:

pandoc -s --filter pandoc-citeproc --biblio ~/Dropbox/bibliography/biblio.bib 
--csl chicago-author-date.csl CITATIONS.md -o example.pdf


I receive the error:
pandoc-citeproc: chicago-author-date.csl: openBinaryFile: does not exist (No 
such file or directory)
pandoc: Error running filter pandoc-citeproc
Filter returned error status 1


it only works if I have chicago-author-date.csl in the *same folder* as 
CITATIONS.md.
How can I make pandoc-citeproc to find .pandoc/csl/chicago-author-date.csl ?

pandoc-citeproc looks for csl files in ~/.csl,
not ~/.pandoc/csl.
