I've uploaded pandoc 1.17.0.1 to Hackage and the github
release site:

This just fixes a serious regression in 1.17, which affects
`pandoc -f json` when used with input from stdin (e.g. in
a pipe). (This has to do with the "file scope" changes.)
I recommend that everyone upgrade, but if you never use json
input, then it's not urgent.
Thanks to Fedor Sheremetyev for noticing the bug and
Jesse Rosenthal for fixing it.
