How to get citations without brackets

How to get citations without brackets

Whenever I use pandoc with markdown I get citations inside brackets for
html and docx outputs.
I usually get something like (*Doe, 1991).*
I would like to have a citation with two features:
1. Without brackets = *Doe, 1991*
2. With title name instead of author = *Unkown book*

bib entry
===

@misc{doe1991,
title = {Unknown book},
author = {John Doe},
year = {1991}
}

Any ideas?

This is the norm for the default Chicago author-date. You can supply a custom CSL file to change this; see <http://editor.citationstyles.org/> for a visual editor if you’re not clear how the syntax works.
