hello,

I don't seem to find a solution to get alternating page numbers 
(alternating form left and right side). 
I hope I'm clear enough. 

Thanks a lot. 


for example:
number "2" on page 2 is on left side of the page
number "3" on page 3 is on the right side of the page 
and so on

If you don't specify --pdf-engine, you are exporting to PDF via LaTeX, so you can set "classoption" to "twoside" in the metadata.

Thanks for your response, 

'twoside' option adjust the text to left and right (not what I'm looking 
for though). I just need to have the page numbers alternating from left to 
right.

Ok, so forget about twoside. What happens if you add the following to "header-includes" in the metadata?

\usepackage{titleps}
\renewpagestyle{plain}{
  \sethead{}{}{}
  \setfoot[][][]{}{}{\thepage\ifodd\thepage\else\hfill\fi}
}
\pagestyle{plain}
