A Beginner needing some guidance.

Hi
I am Sarthak.
I came across the Pandoc Figures Project through GSoC's page.
I installed it and tried to play around with it a bit. Found it really 
handy.
I am interested in contributing to the Project.
I read the relevant instructions to contribute and found the "good first 
issues" page & "complexity:low" issues page.
I have familiarity with basic Haskell syntax  and data types and HTML 
syntax (from a University course) 


I tried reading the code but did not understand a lot of things.

Question : 
1) Where should I start first (i.e Readers/Writers/Pandoc.hs or jump 
straight to the issues.)
   or 
   Should I first gloss over the documentation of the imported modules to 
get a gist of what connects to what and how.
   or 
   something else of your suggestion.

Any help will be appreciated.

Hi, 
I am also a beginner and having the same question as you did there several 
month ago. I would like to know if you continued your contribution and if 
so what advice you would give to you back there. 

Also I'm looking forward to others beginners or professionals joining this 
thread if they have any to share.
