--self-contained data-attributes for reveal.js

hello group,

using pandoc to generate reveal.js slides with --self-contained 
data-attributes do not get converted.

Slide backgrounds can for example be set by data-background or 
data-background-image.

These data-attributes do not get base64-converted.

# title {data-background-image="img/bg.jpg"}

ist this intended? Base64 conversion of these data-attributed images would 
be good.
