Hi,
I've developed a pandoc filter that transforms a div into a figure from 
markdown text. In particular, this allows you to use the new complex 
figures in pandoc>=3.0:

::: {.figure caption="Figure caption"}

![Tux junior 1 caption](Tux_junior-1.pdf "Tux Junior 1")

![Tux junior 2 caption](Tux_junior-2.pdf "Tux Junior 2")

![Tux junior 3 caption](Tux_junior-3.pdf "Tux Junior 3")

:::

produces the file as an attachment
