Had to use "--platform linux/amd64" option because default option does not work on Apple Mac with M1 chip. No idea what is wrong. The Pandoc docker images are amd64 only. You should use another image or install Pandoc directly. I encountered this problem a while back and made a apple silicon-compatible image for quarto: https://hub.docker.com/repository/docker/jdutant/quarto-minimal/general Quarto embeds pandoc, so you can also use it to run Pandoc: docker run --rm --volume $(pwd):/data jdutant/quarto-minimal pandoc source.md -o out.html It's a slightly older version of Pandoc, but you can use it for a try-out.
