Html to Latex Table linebreaks

This exmaple:
<table>
<thead>
<tr>
<th>
    1
<br>
2
</th>
</tr>
</thead>
</table>

Will convert to something like this

\begin{tabulary}{L} \hline
    
        1 \\ 2 \\
    
    \end{tabulary}

The <br> will translate to a \\ wich is a linebreak but in this case a 
\linebreak would be better. Is this a github issue or is there a easy fix 
to avoid this?
