Pandoc, HTML, and Wordpress

I am writing in default-flavoured Markdown and using Pandoc to generate 
HTML for use in a WordPress blog.

I know from prior experience that some modification must be made to the 
generated HTML for use in WordPress.

I have searched the Web but not found something along the lines of my 
use case.

I am writing to ask if anyone on this list knows of something public 
that already exists, or if they have a script for private use that hey 
might be willing to share.

Dont want to nag you, but why would you do that?
The default editor in Wordpress lets you write, save and publish. 
If you prefer writing in MD, which I do, there are lots of static site generators for publishing.

What modifications are required? What's your operating system? What version 
of Pandoc are you using?

Yes, I have come to that conclusion myself---to use a static site 
generator---and am seriously considering Hugo, but even that requires a 
filter for MathJax for a vanilla-flavoured markdown written in pandoc.

My query was simply to avoid re-inventing the wheel in case a ready-made 
solution existed.

The last time I used HTML generated from pandoc, I needed to replace 
image data with something WordPress could manage. I used a perl script 
for that and thought of asking in case something ready-made exists now.

I have now decided to move to a Hugo-based site; so those considerations 
do not matter now.
