This error occurs also when text is containing space as in following exemple

After having replacing \text{für\ } by \text{für}~, the formula is accepted !

I know that error is detected in Wikipedia, but I ask my question to Pandoc because Wikipedia is first to use wikimedia ! 

Is that a bug ?

Is there a parameter that I can use and that avoid to write \  in \text{...} Latex expression ?
