Is percentage width (width=100%) supported for images in markdown to docx?

Is percentage width (width=100%) supported for images in markdown to docx?

I was trying the "width" feature on images, but found that using percentage 
did nothing in the markdown to docx conversion.

Trying: 

![test-img](./test-img.png){width=5%}

But the % is ignored, as if I hadn't put any width attributes at all.
Is this expected or should I open a bug report?

(Latest stable and develop versions of pandoc exhibit this)
