Here is my take on a script that runs pandoc with the options it finds in
the YAML metadata of the input markdown file (or an external YAML file):
https://github.com/mb21/panrun
What differentiates it from panzer etc. is, that it's really minimal.
- no dependencies except pandoc and ruby (which is preinstalled on macOS)
- one file with ~180 lines of code
