LaTeX Error: Too deeply nested

Hi All,

When converting a markdown document to PDF using Pandoc, I get an error 
saying:

! LaTeX Error: Too deeply nested.

According to some documentation and discussions, this error relates to 
nested lists, however I am not using any nested list. What else might cause 
this issue?

My google-fu is not giving me much, besides this complaint:

Which resonates deeply with my personal feelings about latex.

Could you please share a minimal reproducible example (MRE) or the document
you are working on?
My guess is that you have somehow produced broken tex code, but I'm not
sure how.

Hello Guillaume,

Thanks for your response. I guess you're right, there is probably some 
broken code. It's a very large document that I cannot easily share. I'll 
try to break it up to narrow down the issue and create a minimum 
reproducible example as you suggest.

You could use a list without knowing. A number of environments are
internally lists, e.g. quote or environments which change margins.

If you could show the LaTeX code it would be probably quite trivial
to find out where the error is from.
