Hi, I was just wondering for those of us without much room to install the
build toolchain, if there were "nightly" builds of Pandoc V2.0 for macOS
available anywhere?
Thanks, Ian

Note: Windows builds are currently broken; I've provided
a PR to fix this but it hasn't been merged.

Thanks John! I had an error telling me I do not have an abbreviations file,
but an empty file called abbreviations in DATA-DIR fixed that. Do I pull
the latest templates and other data files direct from github master?

Was this using the binary you just got from pandoc-nightly?

Yes, I downloaded the binary nightly, then called it with an absolute path and got the error about abbreviations with a long non existent path not being present. I have an existing pandoc 1.x installed via home brew.
Thanks to you all for the nightly and all the hard work going into pandoc 2!

Ok, I got the error now. Since I didn't include the `data/` directory in
the nightly release, it isn't found.
One problem I see is that it is an absolute path to that `data/` directory,
and I wasn't sure how to change it to a relative path (which is required to
distribute a nightly build). @jgm, do you have any suggestions?

I don't know how you're building the binary in nightly.
I suggest building with the embed_data_files flag; this
will bake the data files into the binary.
With stack you'd add
--flag 'pandoc:embed_data_files'
