Customise output of markdown writer for tables and line length

Is there any way to customise the output of markdown writer for tables and 
line length?

I know about the --atx-headers option to customise the header, but I'm 
after the following:

1. Tables with pipe separators (so that an app with discount markdown can 
read it).

2. All text lines without linebreaks in a paragraph (or at least amke lines 
with more characters than the current 75)

Any options or rextensions for this?

The answer to the second question is the --no-wrap option. If I'm not
mistaken you will get pipe tables if you use
markdown-simple_tables-multiline_tables-grid_tables as output format.
That's minus those kinds of tables you don't want.

The default is 72 characters and is controlled by the --columns= option.
