It's not unprecedented, though. pdfjam,[1] for example, allows you
to specify multiple file names on the command line, with each file
followed by the pages from the preceding file that pdfjam is to
extract.
But, although I brought it up, I'm now hoping you won't go this
way, because my pandoc-mode for Emacs doesn't have any
infrastructure set up for this kind of thing... Normally, new
options in Pandoc can be supported in pandoc-mode with a single
line of code, but --filter-args would require quite a bit more
work... ;-)
