Embedding Pandoc in other technologies

Such a great project, but how am I supposed to work with it from Java or 
JavaScript when it is written in Haskell?

The project I'm working on right now is all JavaScript with Node.js. I 
suppose you can always spawn out to an external process, but that's really 
ugly. Are there any wrappers or converters that would let me work with it 
directly from JavaScript?
