Hello,

I am embarking on a major documentation project using markdown and pandoc. I have been working on a small section of the project for a while, but haven't figured out how to indicate major parts/sections/chapters in the finished pdf document.

I want the parts to be numbered as 1, 2, 3 etc and the sections as 1.1 1.2 2.1 etc and chapters as 1.1.1 1.1.2 etc.

I am using level 2 markdown headings to identify parts and level 3 headings to indicate sections.

What do I have to include in the pandoc command to generate the proper numbering in both the table of contents and in the actual generated headings in my pdf document?
