G'day,
I have an org file that contains legal case references of the form Klees v
M101 Holdings Pty Ltd [2021] NSWSC 182.

When I do a pandoc transform to html, the [2021] part of the case reference
is exported as a footnote.

Is this expected behaviour, or am I missing some option? If I put a
zero-width space between the [ and the 2, it works as expected. Thanks for
any help.
