* beamer: default alignment of columns environment

The new syntax for columns inside slides is great, but would you consider 
**not** enforcing top-level alignment for the columns? It's something that 
cannot be customized with a filter because the writer is doing it.

I know you may argue that when the two columns have text, it may look 
better. But if you have columns with text and an image, or two images, it 
just doesn't look quite right.

Also, the default alignment in beamer is centered columns. I think sticking 
to the defaults of the target format is better.

We should make the alignment customizable with an
attribute (just as width is).  (I'm reluctant to
change the default setting, though, because people
may be relying on the current behavior.)

Want to open an issue for this on our GitHub issue tracker?
