Hello, all
Whenever I include a table of contents into my Word
document by means of the --toc option, MS Word asks
the following quiestion before opening the resulting
file:
This document contains fields that may refer to
other files. Do you want to update the fields in
the document?
I must answer in the affirmative in order to have a
TOC. It is discussed here on StackOverflow:

The answer says the message appears because the doc-
ument has some "fields" that referer to external
sources and are configured to update automatically.
Must the table of contents be such a field?

This just came up on this list a few days ago - here is what I wrote then:
It has to do with the limited amount of info that we are able to add to the
native docx format vs. what Word actually expects. More details at
