No, because a new line in the source won=E2=80=99t necessarily coincide wit= h a new line in the rendered output. To Daniel: You want to soft-wrap text that is longer than a specified length, not hard wrap it. I disagree. Most programming and markup languages typically have strict conventions for *hard* wrapping. The reason for this is quite simple, as you mention yourself, soft wrapping is viewer dependent, and hard wrapping is not. My one thought on that would be to put in some zero-width spaces at acceptable wrapping points. Interesting, how can I do that in Vim? To Bastie= n:

Would splitting the inline co= de in two inlines be acceptable for you?

No, because a new line in the s= ource won=E2=80=99t necessarily coincide with a new line in the rendered ou= tput.

To Daniel:<= /h1>

You want to soft-wrap text that= is longer than a specified length, not hard wrap it.

I disagree. Most programming = and markup languages typically have strict conventions for hard w= rapping. The reason for this is quite simple, as you mention yourself, soft= wrapping is viewer dependent, and hard wrapping is not.

My one thought on that would be= to put in some zero-width spaces at acceptable wrapping points.

Interesting, how can I do that = in Vim?
