Are bibliography formats converted to a native AST? I've tried multiple
commands on a bibtex database, and the only ones that seem to work are the
ones that go from a bibliography based format (such as bibtex, biblatex and
csljson) to another bibliography based format.

When I try to do something like

`pandoc -f bibtex -t markdown .\bibliography.bib`

or

`pandoc -f bibtex -t native .\bibliography.bib`

I get no output. Why is this?
