IIRC there's some code in citeproc that removes redundant punctuation; obviously it
is doing the wrong thing in this case.

Also, it should be blocking the case transform on login and it isn't.

Have you tried converting this to CSL JSON and using the same stylesheet with
Zotero/citeproc.js?  That would tell us if there is a bug in citeproc or if
this is expected behavior.  A bug report on jgm/citeproc might be warranted.
