But, you can have a look at csquotes \MakeAutoQuote command \MakeAutoQuote{„}{“} \MakeAutoQuote*{‚}{‘} This will make „“‚‘ active, that is, these characters will be equivalent to csquotes commands „ -> \enquote{ “ -> } ‚ -> \enquote*{ ‘ -> } That way, you should be able to control the quotes via csquotes.
