I'm trying to convert a big mathematical article (32 pages) with a lot of
mathematical expressions from *docx* to *wikimedia.*
When, from Wikipedia Sandbox, I incorporate wikimedia file generated by
pandoc, the following line are refused by Wikipedia
[image: image_2023-04-12_081228333.png]
{| class="wikitable"
|-
! 1)
! <math display="block">S_{m} = \int_{0}^{a}{\varepsilon^{m}\text{\
}\psi(\varepsilon)}\text{\ }\text{d}\varepsilon</math>
|}
after replacing \text{\ } by \ or ~, the formula is accepted !
This error occurs also when text is containing space as in following exemple
{| class="wikitable"
|-
! 9)
! <math display="block">\varphi(\sigma_{1})_{2}\delta_{1} = \{\begin{matrix}
\frac{4\sigma_{1}}{a^{2}}\delta_{1} & \text{für\ }2\sigma_{1} < a \\
\frac{4(a - \sigma_{1})}{a^{2}}\delta_{1} & \text{für\ }2\sigma_{1} > a \\
\end{matrix}</math>
|}
After having replacing \text{für\ } by \text{für}~, the formula is accepted
!
I know that error is detected in Wikipedia, but I ask my question to Pandoc
because Wikipedia is first to use wikimedia !
*Is that a bug ?*
Is there a parameter that I can use and that avoid to write \ in \text{...} Latex
expression ?
Thanks for any help !

Are you using the latest pandoc release?
Here's a recent commit in texmath that may affect this:
commit 5b337e57b80831b624f52dd250ab5d612ee94b88
Author: John MacFarlane <jgm-TVLZxgkOlNX2fBVCVOL8/A@public.gmane.org>

Remove escaping of spaces inside \text{}.
It isn't needed, and it causes problems in MathJax rendering.
