Yes, I have come to that conclusion myself---to use a static site 
generator---and am seriously considering Hugo, but even that requires a 
filter for MathJax for a vanilla-flavoured markdown written in pandoc.

My query was simply to avoid re-inventing the wheel in case a ready-made 
solution existed.
