It is important to remove the line deb http://mirrordirector.raspbian.org/raspbian/ stretch main contrib non-free rpi from your /etc/apt/sources.list *before *executing the commands sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade Otherwise you will end up upgrading to Raspbian Stretch, which is not quite as friendly as Jessie just yet. (writing in July 2017). Also, I realise that this version of Pandoc isn't quite the version number we're after, but it's the closest I can get.
