Cover image for PDF file?

Cover image for PDF file?

Hi,

I'm generating an EPUB file and I can specify the argument

--epub-cover-image=img/cover.png

However, I wasn't able to find a similar option for PDF. Does it exist? If 
not, what's the reason?

pandoc 2.7.3
Compiled with pandoc-types 1.17.5.4, texmath 0.11.2.2, skylighting 0.8.1

I found this package: https://ctan.org/pkg/pdfpages?lang=en

Which lets you include a PDF file in LaTeX so I went with this one for now 
(converting the PNG to PDF first) but I would love to know it there's a 
better and less hacky way.
