Thanks for your reply. I have set the user variable within the 
Environmental variables (see Pandoc_crossrefpath_set.png)

 However, it is still not working, even after I restarted Power shell. 

My Pandoc code used is as follows: - *pandoc   -F pandoc-crossref 
--citeproc paper.md -N -o paper.docx * 

*I have attached the error message produced when I run the above pandoc 
command. *
