Hi

I'm trying to create some templates on a Windows machine. Could anyone tell
me where to store templates? The location of the Pandoc .exe file is
C:\Users\nngr\AppData\Local\Pandoc. Most instructions involve creating a
folder called ".pandoc", but Windows doesn't allow me to create a folder
beginning with a dot.

Thanks

Nick

Do 'pandoc --version'

It will tell you the "default user data directory."
That's what you should use on Windows. On linux
it will be ~/.pandoc, but on Windows it will be
something else.

Thanks for getting back and sorry for slow reply.

I've checked, and \nngr\AppData\Local\Pandoc is my pandoc directory, but
the computer will not let me make a .pandoc folder inside this (I have
admin right, but it's a weird set up. There is a roaming profile - not my
choice).

Does this mean that I am unable to install templates?

Cheers

N

you can also explicitly use the --template option...

Two possibilities:

You can use --template and pass it the full path to
your template.

You can also use --data-dir to specify any directory
you like to use as your user data directory.

Excellent. Many thanks. (and rather obvious...)
