Hello, 
I'm trying to transclude some pandoc markdown files into a larger html file 
and I notice that when the individual markdown files have parentheses in 
them, (like so) the resultant html text from each file is wrapped in 
quotation marks: 


" <p> I don't want (these) quotation marks </p>" 

Is there a simple solution for getting pandoc to not do this? I tried 
escaping the parentheses in the markdown, but that did not work. 

Barring this, I'll have to stop using parentheses in my writing (which 
would be a pity).

It's hard to say what's going on here without more information
about what you're doing to convert these files.  Can you
reproduce this with a short example just using pandoc?
It seems unlikely that pandoc itself is adding these
quotes...
