If rc were able to perform redirected built-in commands without
forking, like a modern sh and es, would it be beneficial to change the
grammar of a pipe to bind more closely to the right, rather than the
left?

At the moment,

	echo bar | read foo

is a widely known failing of sh, but with these two changes it would
work in rc.

This is not a serious suggestion; I'm just interested exploring the
design of rc.
