There have been a couple of major changes between the first version
posted, v2.10, and the current version, v2.12.
Firstly, all of the stuff on using .profile or .login to exec rc has
been deleted. There are just too many places where it does not work
(like rsh and the X11 implementation under Ultrix).
Secondly, all of the guff on getting quotes past rsh has been deleted.
It was all based on a misunderstanding on my part of the interaction of
vanilla rsh and a vanilla sh and so bore very little resemblence to
reality. Thanks to Byron for pointing that one out.
Other than that, there have been several typos corrected and a couple
of minor bug fixes.
I'm not inclined to post diffs (especially at this stage, when things
are still settling down), but if you want to look at them they are
available by anonymous ftp to oldp.astro.wisc.edu as
pub/rc/rc-FAQ-diffs-v2.10-v2.12.
