Hello all,
I'm using runit as process 1 and I'd like to run automounter (from the
autofs package) with it, however its init script is quite complex & as
I figured it doesn't stay on foreground.
I know I could run it from stage 1, however I want it to run right after
portmap & rpc.statd (since I use autofs to mount nfs shares on demand),
that run supervised & I'd prefer to keep them this way.
Has anyone figured it out or should I stick to an ugly solution with
fghack :) ?

Umm, why are you using automounter for core services? Shouldn't you
be using fstab to mount them (local or nfs) or use a nfs-root system?
...then run automounter later for intermittent mount points.

I don't use it for core services (...no /usr shares, etc.), I use it on
my laptop roaming through 5 different lans, with different nfs shares &
automount makes my file quite easier :).

Guess I misinterpreted the problem... first thing to do is file a bug
report:
Please report other bugs along with a detailed description
to <autofs@linux.kernel.org>. To join this mailing list,
send a message with the line "subscribe autofs" to <major
domo@linux.kernel.org>.
Next, I would write a service to insure the daemon is up....
Cheers,
