Either the list is dead or the system swallowed my previous message. Sending 
bzipped. Works for me flawlessly...

So, after digging deeper I've modified the Makefile to source two new files:

conf-cc-local and conf-ld-local

These are then used to build the chk-something stuff but the rest is 
untouched. So far, it seems to be working alright. Feel free to rename the 
files or something but please revise it (and incorporate) it soon so I can 
throw away the old sysvinit.
