After many years working in a variety of places, I have come to the conclusion that Sturgeon's Law ("90% of everything is crud") applies to working programmers as well. :-( W.R.T. the statement as given, the point is good; when a language is huge and complex (yes C++, I'm looking at you) it becomes really hard to be effective in it unless you are a super-star genius.
