I can't remember any of the specifics any longer (which is a shame in itself), but I do remember that instead of shooing me away, he was insanely polite and kind even though he didn't know me and had no reason to be so nice. Afterwards someone (I think it may have been Tom Christiansen) pointed out to me that I'd taken up far too much of his time, and said something to the effect that one had to be careful not to take excess advantage of his kindness.
