The topic of GBACA (Get Back At Corporate America), the video game for
the BLIT/5620, has come up on a Facebook group.

Does anyone happen to have any details about it, source code, author,
screen shots, ...?

Thanks,

     Mary Ann

I remember that game! I am pretty sure it came out of Bell Labs; we had
it at Georgia Tech along with our 5620s and the layers software (or
whateverit was called) to let you use the 5620 on BSD vaxen.

I don't remember (and don't think I knew) any other details....

Sorry,

Arnold

AT&T Summit had library called something like the Toolbox. A number of
assorted tools like some PS support, the korn shell (ksh88), mk and think
the some of the 5620 tools like layers where able to be purchased from it.
  It was all source.

What I don’t remember how many of the 5620 games were in that kit (or much
of anything else in it).

If we can chase down that library you might find it in there but I know I
don’t have it in my archives.

It was written by Pat Autilio: https://www.linkedin.com/in/patautilio/

I do have a copy of the source. It's all marked up with comments like:

 *      Copyright (c) 1984, 1985 AT&T
 *      All Rights Reserved

 * THIS IS UNPUBLISHED PROPRIETARY SOURCE
 *      CODE OF AT&T.
 * The copyright notice above does not
 * evidence any actual or intended
 * publication of such source code.

But then again so was all the other dmd/layers stuff at the time, and
most of that was opened up, if I'm not mistaken, by Dave Dykstra
(e.g. the dev5620 package even came with a GPLv2 COPYING file).

So I suppose I could make it available....

It'd be cool if you would give this to Warren. There are even 5620
emulators out there; maybe this game could be revived? I remember
playing it, it was fun.

I’ve always thought that a number of these would be fun, and pretty easy to make into apps. And GBACA might have a little historical interest.

The thing to do, "obviously", is to get the 5620 emulator running as
an app on Android... :-) Retrocomputing with a vengeance.
