The build currently fails because git.apache.org is offline and thrift cannot be downloaded. According to https://github.com/hashicorp/terraform/issues/22664#issuecomment-527142529 the dependency should be pulled from github instead. I don't know if it is feasible to patch this in the package or if we have to wait for upstream to fix it.
